SUMMER TAXES:
These are mailed the beginning of July. Due by mid-September (Please see your current tax bill for the exact due date).

What you owe has changed and the amount of interest charged varies. The tax bill increases by one-percent (1%) for every month a tax bill is past due. From this point on (March 1st) – Taxes are due and payable to the Alger County Treasurer.

WINTER TAXES:
There are mailed the beginning of December and are due by the final day of February or March 1st (Please see your current tax bill for the exact due date). As of March 1st, property taxes are due and payable to the Alger County Treasurer (https://www.algercounty.gov/departments/county_treasurer/index.php)

Each year all past due taxes are turned over to Alger County. You must now pay the taxes amount plus delinquent interest and fees. To pay past due taxes contact the Alger County Treasurer at (906)387-4535 / or by email: pjohnson@algercounty.gov. to verify the exact amount due.

PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES:
Personal Property Taxes (PPT) apply to all businesses with Michigan. However, any small business within the Township are likely exempt from paying but must contact the Au Train Township Assessor via email: autrainassessor@gmail.com – to obtain the correct PPT Exemption Form (https://www.michigan.gov/taxes/property/ppt/personal-property-tax-forms)
